Softly ThunderStruck Loop | Free Video Guitar Lesson
Members Get Tab, Guitar Pro, And Practice Tracks (3 Speeds)
I made this lesson in mind for an awesome 7yo Skype guitar lesson student that I am working with. I used to play this song with all hammer-ons and pull-offs, later I would pick every fretted note and pull-off to the open B-string. However, as I explain in the video below, the way to play this loop exercise and Thunderstruck itself is to ALTERNATE PICK EVERY NOTE! Up-picks on every open B and down-picks on every fretted note through-out the exercise.
I can play this song right now up to tempo of the Thunderstruck recording if I "cheat" and use all hammer-ons and pull-offs. But I did not want to set a bad example for my student and teach the "cheating" method. To get this lesson up to speed, be sure to learn this song SLOWLY AND CORRECTLY!

- First make sure you watch the video and read the member's tab get your fingering and picking correct. I have included LH fingering in the tricky parts of the tab.
- See if you can then play to the 40bmp SLOW member's jam track. For any of the jam tracks, you can change their tempo further by loading the WAV file to TuneTranscriber.com.
- Play the lesson to the MEDIUM practice jam track. I played the lesson in the video at 92bpm, and the MEDIUM WAV practice track is at 80bpm.
- If you dare, try the FULL-SPEED practice track to play as fast as Angus! I'm not there yet playing all alternate picking, but a can if I cheat and fret-tap. I'll get there soon! Hail Angus!
