In this lesson I will show you how to play the I-V-ii chord progression in the key of G. I will also show you a great strum pattern for playing Knockin' on Heaven's Door. This lesson has music, and tabs to accompany it and is divided into 5 parts. Parts 3-5 are for site members. Part 3 (the solo) is somewhat advanced so if your a beginner I recommend you check it out and even try some of the techniques, but feel free to skip right to part 4- the strum pattern that sounds good to Knockon' on Heaven's Door.

Part 1: I will show you a syncopated strumming pattern for the chord progression in a composition I wrote.
Part 2: I show how to play an arpeggiated picking pattern the you can play over the strum pattern.
Part 3: I break down the 8 bar solo bar for bar.
Part 4: I show how to play a nice strumming pattern that you can use for the song, "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"
Part 5: I briefly explain the music theory behind a I-V-ii chord progression.
